Hi [%first_name | Friend%],
While there are no specific laws against using alcohol and owning a gun, medical cannabis patients are not allowed to own firearms. The legitimacy of this restriction is being challenged by a Florida agriculture official, due to a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling against New York State’s gun laws.
New York authorities are also accusing Teva of lying about the coordination of its US branch, which would expand the lawsuit. Teva just settled a lawsuit with San Francisco and are aiming for a national settlement to stop the bleeding.
Schumer’s legalization bill might finally get to the Senate this week though it's bound to get defeated. More likely to pass is the banking or veterans access bill, which was recently added to the defense bill. Last year banking was taken off at the last moment so its passing is far from certain. Ahh, the age-old political battle of “Let's look like we are doing more than the other party” vs “Let's actually accomplish something.” :)

Enjoy another summer week!
