New Jersey is pushing its launch date of adult-use cannabis back a little. Republican politicians deceptively accused Biden of sending crack pipes to the poor. Aargh! During this fragile effort for federally-legal cannabis, we don’t need the 79-year-old president waking up in the middle of the night with nightmares that he's working the corner as a crack dealer and screaming “Just say no to drugs!”. Sorry for the visual. :)

Pressing issues exist such as supervised drug injection site legalization and stopping the import of fentanyl. A bipartisan 148-page report this week stated that while fentanyl was being made in China and shipped to Mexican cartels that traffic it to the US, now it's the precursors that are shipped from China and turned into fentanyl in Mexico before being combined with other drugs and taken to the US. Chinese, American and Mexican governments have difficulty halting fentanyl due to its compactness as only 2 mg of fentanyl can kill, so the report emphasizes treatment and prevention. Here are interesting, undercover fentanyl investigations in China from The Atlantic in 11/19 and NPR in 11/20. While the overdose epidemic is affecting all demographics, overdoses of African Americans are increasing disproportionately. We think it's ironic that pharmaceutical drugs are manipulated to kill people while natural, safe, and medicinal cannabis remains illegal. That will change though. :)
