Hi [%first_name | Friend%],
The LA Times is surprising their new hires with random drug tests. Itās odd given that cannabis can help creativity. New York bans employers from testing, so even the Wall Street Journal doesnāt test. We have journalists from both periodicals on our list. Times, are you going to let people think that Robert Murdoch's WSJ is hipper than you are? :) Let us know when you change your policy, and weāll tell the Purablis Nation. (Okay, I just made that phrase up.) :)
Our list is powerful. How powerful? Recently we encouraged our readers to spread the word that Nebraska needed 100,000 signatures within 10 days. They and the rest of the cannabis community came through and pushed Nebraska over the threshold by 6,000 signatures. Good job guys! Letās cross our fingers that these signatures don't get invalidated, but Oklahoma, Missouri, North Dakota and Arkansas had enough signatures submitted, too.
And while New York is sending cease and desist letters to 52 illicit dispensaries, threatening to not give them a license (though they can just get one in a family member's name), California is starting to play hardball, bringing in the feds to threaten huge fines and decades-long prison sentences. An article describes a current case.
