Hi,
To the surprise of many, California Governor Newsom vetoed a bill to legalize supervised drug consumption sites, asking for the formation of a committee to determine best practices. This could be a political play for a national audience to show he is a cautious and collaborative lawmaker. Newsom did the same when choosing to support cannabis legalization. Speaking of policies not going according to plan, California has seen a decline in cannabis taxes for three straight quarters.
We are excited to see legalization in Missouri making the ballot, however, we included an opinion piece decrying how the initiative may be a boon for existing MSOs while leaving out others looking to get into the industry.
Most California cities have a shortage of dispensaries, but not the city of Lompoc which has a population of 42K. They’re thinking of putting a cap on licenses after issuing 46 with another 16 applications pending. I'm about to go visit Lompoc! Where's Lompoc, again? :)
